Thanks & love to all the survey-takers!

Thank you to all who participated in this past week’s survey. I asked which of my 3 free e-course ideas would be most useful to you right now.

Here are the survey results:

92 people took the survey. More than half of those left some super insightful feedback around having a voice online. Thank you.
54.3% wanted Creating Relationships With Your Audience Through Language
29.3% wanted Noticing Your Own Brand Language
16.3% wanted Finding Your Voice Once You’ve Lost It

The next free e-course I’ll release will be — Creating Relationships With Your Audience Through Language.

This new e-course will be available for sign-ups very soon. Sign up here to get word as soon as it’s ready {you’ll start receiving my current free e-course on nichification, which is soon to be pulled from the market, when you do}.

And the winners — yep, didn’t stop at one — of the complimentary VOICE PROFILE are:

Naomi Niles

Leslie Forman

I chose these two because they are active and prolific online, and their offerings couldn’t be more different. Naomi is a user experience and user interface designer. Leslie connects entrepreneurs transcontinentally through translation, training, and trade.

Naomi and Leslie, I’ll be in touch with a few details about your VOICE PROFILE very soon.

One VOICE PROFILE client was concerned the other day that I might not be able to ‘read’ her voice because her archives aren’t very deep.

Truth is, I can read a voice from three blog posts, from static site copy, or from a Tweetstream alone. Even if you’re just starting out your online convo and ‘don’t have much to show for it yet’ — you actually do. That’s the cool thing about voice. It’s always with you — even in a single line of type. In the comments, would you be willing to share . . .

What has been challenging for you around creating relationships with your online audience?

Yay! Very excited to see what you think. There is a lot that I could say about what I am thinking about doing with my business but at this point it is probably best to say nothing and just listen :) Thank you Abby!

Hey Abby–

I am totally psyched for your new e-course!

Here’s my current challenge with building relationships with my online audience:

I’m moving into a place of acceptance that “blogging” doesn’t light me up.  I could try to force it.  But the truth is, it’s not my Thing.  My intuition tells me there is another way to build relationships with my people that doesn’t hinge on how many awesome posts I turn out.  I’d love for you to touch on this in your e-course if possible– i.e., expanding our means of conversation beyond the blog.

Love & respect–
Jac

Hi, Jac! I’m psyched that you’re psyched. :)

I completely empathize with not being in love with blogging. While in general I see any type of consistent, quality written content as a tremendous asset to a brand in this age, I also hold that a blog is not the one and only connection tool to build convo with an online audience. It’s NOT the best tool for every business or brand.

I’m really excited to see the direction you’re heading in for building out this deeper convo with your people in a way that highlights your strengths and gifts and serves your audience right where they’re at.

Am most definitely planning to address the online-convo-beyond-blogging in my e-course. Thanks for the nudge. xo

Challenge? Feeling confident that I have found my voice and what I am trying to share before I start trying to find people who might want to read it. Feeling what I have to say and share is of value to someone else.

Looking forward to your new course Abby. Glad so many survey filler outerers gave you feedback and ideas.

Hugs – coral

Hey, Coral —

Thanks for giving feedback here. I wonder if part of finding your voice — and your people — is writing your way INTO your voice and TOWARD those people. The thing about voice is that is doesn’t quite arrive fully formed. We’re all in some stage of experimentation and iteration. Where you are today will meet someone else right where she’s at. :)
